This type of technique shows a slightly larger subject of the photograph. Fact: Macro comes from the Greek word Makros meaning large. This assignment was quite difficult to work with. It was frustrating to focus on a part of the subject. Many pictures were taken on subjects to get it focused. Lots of time was used to hopefully put all of this together and tried my best to finish it up in time. I look forward to using this technique in the future as I take my photography skills with me.

Hello again! Here is my first assignment for term three of my GCT course. This is called the Alphabet Photography. Our focus was to find all 26 letters of the alphabet in nature, on man-made signs or is created from everyday things. It was quite difficult to find the letters, but in the end, it was an adventure. I was actually looking forward to doing this after seeing grade 9s from the previous years post their photographs on Instagram. I felt inspired by them so I decided to do this as my first assignment of the third term. My final process for this assignment does not look as interesting but at least it was worth giving my best effort to completion.

Hello again! The focus of this assignment was on double exposure. Double exposure is a technique where you can create stunning images. Two photographs are put together to make a whole new photograph. We were assigned to practice on 3 portraits using double exposure then create a final one. It is needed to have a five sentence explanation on why we have chosen the portrait or the background we have used. This assignment gave me another opportunity to experience Adobe Photoshop C6 once again. Using Photoshop can can create a huge change to an image. I would like to become a professional on doing double exposure in the future!

Hello! I am back again with another fun and amazing assignment for my Grade 9 GCT course. We played around with our phones and cameras to capture composition. In this major assignment we were given the choice to take 3 out of 9 compositions minimum for a good mark. In our slidedeck we needed to include photographs for each genre of composition we chose and provide a notes slide to explain. This assignment was quite controversial and needed a good amount of time and effort to complete all this. In the end this it was still a great assignment that gave us an opportunity to play and experience a whole new world of photography. Composition in photography is work of visuals composed of art. Consisting of relative objects and elements in a work of art. The key aspect of composition is to give your work a lot of attention. A good composition is one that has just enough detail and no more than that. The significance of composition is to find the right balance between elements presentable. Composition is the perfect way for guiding the viewer's eyes towards the important elements of your work.

Welcome Back. I present to you another amazing assignment for my GCT course on photographing motion. The purpose of this assignment as you already know is to capture motion, a technique that is precisely controlled of. The benefit of movement in a shot can be very small, slow or subtle. Examples of photographing motion is sports such as Volleyball or Basketball, fast moving objects like cars, or maybe even water dripping from a faucet.

An Egg in Manual Settings by Mary

Hello again, here is my third GCT assignment on An Egg Using Manual Settings. We took our class time and outside of school hours to take pictures and put everything all together into this assignment. Our task was to take an Easter egg, provided by Mr. Harbeck in order for all of us to be successful, and was to take pictures of the egg using the manual setting on the cameras. Our focus was to take control on setting our ISO to a small number for lots of light or to a large number to get little light. We also had to be aware that the higher we set the ISO the more camera noise we will get, that means we have to try and prevent image noise so that is does not affect our image taken afterwards. Second, was to set our f-stop to a high or low number if the photo requires either lots of light (16,11,8) or needs more light (4, 2.8) Lastly was to set our shutter speed as well for lots of light (high number) or we need light (low number). We used all 3 of these settings to take our pictures both indoor and outdoor in different locations to complete our assignment.

Hidden Places @ Sargent Park by Mary

Welcome Back, here is my second GCT assignment on Hidden Places.
Last Thursday on October 4th, 2018 we took the class period and went out on a stroll onto school grounds and into our hidden place, the Outdoor Classroom, to take pictures. It was a cold, breezy yet a sunny day and it was a good day for contrast. We spent the time and took as many pictures as we could to make this assignment complete. The purpose of this assignment was to say if its either Winter or Autumn but its just a matter of weather change every now and then.
