Dolch Sight Words by Ryan, Francine, Vino, Colin






For this assignment, we were given a task to take pictures of specific sight words. We were in a group of 4, and we each divided the 95 words among us. Some words were quite challenging as it was hard to find. Such as robin, farm, Santa Claus, and many more. This required us to search around and use our creativity into finding ways of taking the given sight word. Some of us went to grocery stores, malls, and places out of school just to find the words. It took us quite the time, but we managed to find them and overall it was a fun project to participate in.

Macro Photography By Francine



For this assignment, I chose to do macro photography. I chose this because I wanted to capture up close photos that show small details. I used different kinds of lenses and the focus was on manually. I had to focus it myself to get the picture I wanted. Throughout this entire assignment, I had a lot of fun because I really had to get close to the subject to capture a good photo. For one of the photos, I had a photo where there was a bee on a flower and I had to be real careful since I didn't want to get stung by the bee.

Alphabet Assignment by Francine



For this assignment, we were told to choose one of the projects we were shown. I chose the Alphabet Photography because I expected it to be easy but in fact, it wasn't at all and it was very time-consuming. We were required to take photos of the 26 letters in the alphabet in nature, signs, shapes, and our everyday items. It forced me to be creative and to have a sharp eye just so that I could picture the different letters of the alphabet. Finding a few letters were easier than other letters in the alphabet but I still ended up with all of the letters for this project. I really had quite an adventure looking for these letters and I enjoyed looking for them. 

Final Double Exposure Post by Francine




In this assignment, we were challenged to use photoshop and make double exposure portraits. Double exposure is merging two different photos together. During this project, we different videos of how to create a double exposure to help us make our own. We started off by taking pictures of ourselves with cameras and different kinds of lenses so we had something to use for this project. This was a very fun project to do, and it's my favourite so far. It led us to be creative with which photos we wanted to use and to experiment and play around to get an amazing double exposure. This helped me learn more about photoshop and know about the different kinds of projects you can create.

Shots and Angles the Video Edition by Francine



This assignment is where we learned about shots in videos and how similar they are to the photos. While working on this, I had a lot of fun editing and filming it.

Photographing in Motion By Francine Dulay



In this project, we were assigned to play around with our cameras to photograph pictures to capture motion. There are a few ways of showing motion, such as panning, stopping motion, exaggerated movement and blurring. This project was difficult to do at first because the photos were either too dark or too bright so we had to keep playing with the camera with the shutter speed, aperture and the ISO to get the proper kind of picture we wanted to take. A slower/smaller shutter speed allows us to take photos with a blur while a faster/bigger shutter speed makes everything in the picture look clear and in focus.





The photo above, is panning, Panning is where you move the camera with a moving subject to capture the effect where the subject is in focus while the things around them are not. I've used fast shutter speed to take this photo, such as 1/60. The shutter speed is enough to make the subject clear.


Stopping motion is where you take a picture when something is moving and capturing just one part of that movement. You would need a higher shutter speed so that everything in the photo is clear and in focus. 


In an exaggerated movement photo, you can clearly tell that their gestures are exaggerated and more elaborated to make that model appear more expressive of their actions.




In the photo, this is called blur to show motion. It's where something in the photo is blurred while the others are in focus to show that something is moving, Such as in the photo above, the dice is blurred because the photo was taken when they are falling back down after the model had thrown them in the air.

An Egg in Manual Settings by Francine








In this assignment, we were given an easter egg to take pictures of in manual settings. We were in charge of changing the aperture, the shutter speed and the ISO settings in our cameras in order to get a good photo of our eggs. I kept playing around with the shutter speed and the aperture whenever we were taking the photos outside and inside. It's because outside has lots of light from the sun and inside there was only light from the building. For the ISO, it was better to have a lower ISO so the photo would be clearer, but if you require more light you needed to change the ISO higher. This assignment was fun to do because we kept playing with the camera and now I know how to take proper pictures in the manual settings.

Hidden Places at Sargent Park by Francine





It was a good sunny and chilly day so we took our cameras outside and took pictures around Sargent Park.
