Dolch Sight Words By: Allyza, Justin, Khoa, Yana

For the Dolch Sight Words assignment we worked in a group of 4. There was a total of 95 words which we divided. Each of us received a list of words that we had to capture. There were a few words that were challenging to find, for example, robin, boat, cow, farm and a lot more. To find most of these photos, it required going out. This assignment was also difficult because of communication. It took us weeks to collect the photos but during that time, we also enjoyed the hunt for all the words.

  The Dolch Sight Words Assignment consisted of 4 people a list, the intent was to take pictures of words on that list and how we can manipulate photography to create simple yet creative photos.

Macro Photos By Justin




In the last term of school, the GCT class has gotten a few assignments and the students got to pick one of those multiple assignments. The one I had chosen was Macro Photography. The students of GCT had to go around the school or at home and take photos close to the subject of their choice. In the slide deck below shows the Macro photos I have taken over the past week:

   

Final Double Exposure Post By Justin


The Purpose of the first portrait assignment was to get make a top 10 list of the best techniques when taking a portrait photo but we didn't really have any use of the photos we took until now. We got an assignment to take those photos and create a double exposure in photoshop. Those photos we took are finally coming to use in this assignment. Shots and Angles the Video Edition by Justin

This term my class had an assignment where we're to record a 1 minute video. The video is supposed to be a tutorial and later on we're supposed to edit the video with Adobe Premiere. The following below are apart of the assignment:

Justin's Portrait Post

The GCT class of 2018-2019 had 1 class to take photos of each other for this project on how to take good portrait photos. We used that class to learn different techniques on taking portrait photos and we're now supposed to make a top 10 list of the best techniques in taking good portrait photos which is what that is down below.

10 - Make Sure the subject (the person) take up most of the space in the photo but still have some background

9 - Have your camera setting fit with the setting for your photo (ISO, F-STOP, APERTURE, Etc)

8 - If you have one, use a tripod to keep from blurry photos, especially in cold days when you’re shivering and you can't
take a clear photo
7 - Make sure your subject is in focus and not the background

6 - The backdrop, props, and outfit must be similar like if you’re taking a beach photos have the subject wear beach clothes

5 - If you have props, use them to make the photo look more appealing rather then just having a solid color background.

4 - Have the person do poses to make the photo look interesting

3 - Try using natural light to make the photo look more appealing rather then artificial light.

2 - Show motion in the photo to add interest

1 - Don't take 1 photo at a time, take multiple and pick the photo you like instead of having to keep retaking the photo.

Justin Photographic Composition








My Class has been doing an assignment for the past couple weeks on taking photos for composition and learning about different types of composition. I picked 4 composition types and the photos are shown in the slide deck below. I chose the compositions Line, Shape, Sub Framing, and Rule of Odds because those seemed the most interesting to me and it seemed like the easiest compositions to take a photo of.

For this assignment the class was split up into teams and go capture motion inside the gym. My group captured motion in many different ways like panning, stopping motion, and blur to show motion.
I took many photos to show this and here in the slide down below shows the motion photos I took.

Justin's Hidden Places at Sargent Park

For this assignment our class went out and took a couple of photos for this assignment around the school. I took photos in the outdoor classroom, at the elementary park and somewhere around the grade 7 doors. In the photos I tried to take photos randomly around the school to make it harder to find out where the photos were taken.
